About the event

Saturday, August 31st, 6pm, Doors open at 5:30PM, Concert 6-7pm

Touring balladeer and songwriter Daniel Boling will be at the Los Alamos Jewish Center over Labor Day weekend for a free concert benefiting LA Cares, Los Alamos’ local food pantry. Daniel plays guitar, mandolin, and banjo. His songs are warm, endearing, and often amusing “musical stories.”  LAJC members Richard and Sophia Skolnik are sponsoring the concert, which is free and open to the public.

Based in Albuquerque, Daniel Boling is the newest member of the iconic folk group The Limelighters. First-place winner of the 2017 Woody Guthrie Songwriting Contest, Daniel has been nominated for and won a number of New Mexico Music awards, and has released five CDs. His repertoire includes 15 songs he wrote with the legendary folk singer/songwriter Tom Paxton, and one song written with Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary.

Space is limited, RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Attendees are encouraged to make a donation at the time of reservation.  To donate click here. (Select unrestricted.) All donations from this concert will be given to LA Cares, to support food distribution and rent/utility assistance in our area.

Light refreshments will be served after the concert. At 7:30pm, the public is also invited to attend havdalah, the brief, weekly ritual of spices, braided candle, and wine which marks the end of the Jewish Sabbath.
